Edis Matusevicius highlighted the Lithuanian championships on Saturday, July 27 in Palanga. Matusevicius, who improved his national record to 84.97m at the World University Games in Naples added nearly five meters to this record. After throwing 83.77m in the second round, Matusevicius launched a new Lithuanian record in the third round of 89.17m. Matusevicius concluded his series with three more decent throws: 84.47m, 82.10m and 81.37m. Matusevicius with 89.17m performance moved him to third place on the 2019 world list behind Estonia’s Magnus Kirt (90.61m) and Germany’s Andreas Hofmann (89.65m) with 89.17m.

The 22-year-old Noah Lyles won the men's 200m final at the USA track and field outdoor championships on Sunday in Des Mpines Iowa. Lyles clocked 19.78 seconds ahead of US 100m Champion Christian Coleman (20.02) and Ameer Webb (20.45).
