The USA took its first gold medal of the 2019 World Championships in the women's hammer throw. De'Anna Price threw 77.54m in round 3 to deliver the gold for the United States on Saturday in Doha. She became the first American woman ever to medal in the event. In fact, no American had even finished in the top six at World championships before this year. Joanna Fiodorow of Poland claimed silver with 76.35m in her first attempt. China's Zheng Wang, who was second at 2017 World Championships and third at Moscow World championships in 2013 took the bronze medal with 74.76m throw. See women's hammer throw results here.

Kenenisa Bekele is the fastest runner on the start list of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON this Sunday. The Ethiopian, who is a three time Olympic Champion and still holds the world records for 5,000 and 10,000 m, clocked 2:03:03 when he won the BWM BERLIN-MARATHON in 2016.
