Dalilah Muhammad of the United States broke her own 400m hurdles World record to win the gold with a time of 52.16 in a thrilling matchup against her compatriot Sydney McLaughlin. 20-year-old McLaughlin who pushed Muhammad all the way to the finish came in second with the 2nd fastest time in the history of 52.23.
