Cuba's Juan Miguel Echevarria opened his outdoor season with a bang when he leaped to a wind-assisted 8.92m in the long jump at the Copa Cuba meeting in Havana on March 10. The 2018 World indoor champion, was assisted by a 3.3m/s tailwind beyond the allowable 2.0m/s. His mark is the 4th farthest under any conditions and the best mark in 24 years.
